One Good Day of Snow

We had ONE and ONLY ONE really good day of snow in February (we wanted MORE!)...February 16th. Brian had to trudge off to work, but Jaydon and I made the most of it! Good thing...by the afternoon of the next day, the snow had all melted.

I built a snowman (it's my biggest one to date).

Jaydon helped gather snow for the snowman and helped with the final dressings, including finding the perfect pair of branches for the snowman's arms. For the most part, though, he was busy doing other things. He ran around catching snowflakes on his tongue. He pretended to be a cat walking on four "legs" and looking for cat food in the snow. He found sticks buried in the snow perfect for flicking snow. His most prized creation was a snow "campfire". He asked me to roast marshmellows with him and drink hot chocolate fireside. We did a lot of chillin' by his campfire - he was sooooo excited about it!

We figured out that there's just enough of a slope down the back of our yard that with a running start I could get Jay moving pretty fast on a sled. Here's a video of what it was like. I took this video while simultaneously pulling Jaydon...the weak of stomach be forewarned.

We spent about three hours playing in the snow. As Jaydon would say, "It was SUPER DUPER WOOPER!".

We've had lots and lots and lots and lots of rain since, but no more snow worth mentioning. Rain is blah!!! Snow is good!!! Sun is even better!!! When the sun came back about two weeks ago, along with some warmer weather, we were thrilled! I'm happy to report that I have outdoor play pictures to download and share next!
