Jaydon made this for me about two months ago (in early June). It's the first "craft" that he's created entirely by himself. He cut out all the peices. He glued them together. He drew in the two tiny black eyes. Then he gave it to me and said, "Mommy, I made this for you." I said "Thank you!" and asked what it was. He said, "It's a fish!" The original fish contained only the head, the mid-section, the two fins, and the two eyes. Jaydon added the end peice (the cut-out on the left in the picture) a couple of days later.
He sat at at the island in our kitchen working on this masterpeice while I was busy doing stuff in the kitchen. He was quiet while working, and I had no idea exactly what he was doing other than it involved scissors and glue. I was so impressed with the final product and so proud of him! I still can't believe he made it all on his own, and he knew exactly what he wanted it to be! It's so grown up of him...he's growing up too fast!!!!
As a sidenote, Jaydon loves cutting with his scissors. It's an activity that can occupy a good half hour or so of his time. It makes for a great roadtrip activity. And in case anyone was wondering, his scissors have a blunt tip.
