Our Caregiver

For the past two weeks or so I haven't been feeling well...very congested and snotty...yuck! My body is telling me Spring is on its way. Unfortunately, Jay appears to have inherited this gene from me, but he seems to deal with it a whole lot better than I do. When I've been really feeling down (as in miserable and I need to lie down), Jay would come over to me, wrap his arms around my neck and give me a hug, then say, "I will take care of you, Mom. I will make you feel better." He puts his check right up against my cheek and sometimes he even gives me a kiss on my forehead. Makes my heart melt just thinking about it. It may not make the snotty-ness go away, but it sure does comfort the soul.

Brian gets to feel the love, too. Today, Jay and I met Brian for lunch (always a treat for us). Brian didn't look very well, either verging on a cold/flu or maybe just suffering from being overworked and overtired. Realizing Daddy wasn't feeling well, Jay gave him a nice, long, tight hug and also said, "I will make you feel better, Dad."
