Here's our top five reasons to go out for sushi as a family:
1. I love sushi!
2. Skip the kids menu, Jay loves edamame!
3. Nice hot wash clothes before your meal.
4. Distractions for Jay in the form of cool water features and/or interesting artwork.
5. Jay can use CHOPSTICKS! We were out for sushi a couple of weeks ago (September 21st to be exact). It had been probably six months since the last time we went out for sushi (too long if you ask me). After fidgeting with and attempting to use (unsuccessfully) a pair of regular chopsticks, Jaydon was handed a pair of kids chopsticks (the kind that are bound on one end with a rubber band). At first, he wasn't too happy that he had been given modified chopsticks, but once he figured out that he could use them, he was very happy! Instead of eating the edamame out of the shells like he would usually do, we popped them out onto his plate. He was able to grab them one at a time with his chopsticks and get them to his mouth to eat. We were amazed that he was able to do it, and we were amazed with how focused and determined he was trying.
