Seasons

A conversation Jay and I had on our way to our town library last week:

=========================

Jay: That's the yake, Mom?

Me: What was that, Jay? Is there something awake? You're awake?

Jay: The YAKE, Mom.

Me: There are animals AWAKE outside?

Jay: It's the YAKE.

Me: The LAKE.

Jay: Yeah!

Me: You know that's the lake. We like to swim in the lake, right?

Jay: Yeah.

Me: But it's too cold to swim now.

Jay: It's too cold now, but in the summer it's not too cold.

=========================

Things to note:
1. The concept of the seasons seems to be settling in with Jay. Which reminds me that he hasn't asked about dandelions for awhile now. Can you believe we...I mean Jay...was still finding dandelions in October?!
2. Jaydon's "L" sound always comes out as a "Y" sound. It cracks me up a little every time he says, "it yooks yike...".
3. Jaydon is very fond of asking questions he already knows the answers to.
4. We always pass the town lake on our way to our town library.
