Dandelions and Frogs

This past weekend we went to check out a new/renovated playscape. The playscape is adjacent to the lake/beach we like to visit in the summertime and where Jaydon takes swim lessons. Jaydon completely by-passed the playground and went straight to looking for dandelions and frogs.

Jaydon has been obsessed with dandelions - the "white ball dandelions" to be exact - ever since we took our Flower Kids class. From the moment he wakes up in the morning, he starts asking, "find white dandelions", and no matter where we are going or what we are doing, he tells us over and over and over again, "find white dandelions". Once in hand, if the dandelion ball gets blown by the wind or somehow falls apart in the slightest way, he tosses it and is quickly on the hunt for another one. If we are lucky, he doesn't throw a fit before he finds the next one.

Looking for frogs was something different for Jaydon. He requested to not only "find frogs", but also "hold frogs", so we'll have to remember a net for next time. Unfortunately, we didn't find any frogs (we'll look for them again in a few weeks). Instead, Jaydon entertained himself by throwing sand into the water.
