Salmon River Park

With the help of friends, we are discovering wonderful new places to visit, some literally in our own backyard. This weekend we BBQ-ed and enjoyed time with friends at the Salmon River Park, which is only about 15 minutes or so from our house. It was soooo much FUN that we plan on going back many more times this summer (and hope some of you can join us!). The whole outing reminded me of BBQ's and Potlucks at the park from when I was growing up, which were always tons of fun.

The weather was gorgeous! The food was tasty and plentiful! The company was fantastic! And the river right next to our picnic area made for a perfect place to play, whether it was throwing rocks into the water or wading in the shallow areas. The kids (Jaydon and Anne, especially) didn't seem to mind the cold at all. As for me, the water was so cold it was painful!

All in all, we had a blast! Jaydon found big white dandelions to pick. He threw rocks in the water and splashed away in the river, until finally he fell in (it was bound to happen). And he really enjoyed playing with his friends. Nowadays, he really plays with his friends and is excited to be with them. It's so much fun to watch. Here's pictures with all the kids.
